I need some help here, anyone?
I need some help here, anyone?
Okay, I need a litttttttle help. I started on a journey to lose weight, I completely dropped soda, I drink nothing but water, three to five bottles a day, and I exercise on a treadmill five times a week, over thirty minutes each time, so basically what I need to know is how to portion my food, because I have a problem, you see I don't really have a normal eating schedule, only because my family is strange, we don't eat dinner at a normal hour, sometimes we don't even eat dinner at all, and we have to fend for ourselves, I don't go to school, I'm taking my GED online, and I'm home all day, but I sleep most of the day, and I'm usually up all night I try not eating late at night, and if I do get a tad hungry, I eat a piece of fruit. I'm up to usually about seven a.m so I usually eat breakfast, and wait a bit and then go to sleep. I can't necessarily change my sleeping pattern, I mean every once in a while it will change on it's own. I can't really change it because well, you wouldn't really understand why I can't change it. But anyway, I usually eat when I'm truly hungry, and that was only like twice a day. Sometimes I eat the breakfast, like I said above, and I eat dinner, whatever dinner I have. You see, I don't come from a healthy family, and I keep telling my Mother to get me some healthy food, but she won't, so since I can't really eat healthy, I need help trying to portion my food, so if you could tell me how to start. That would be amazing. I don't want anyone telling me to eat healthier because I honestly can't, because they won't listen to me.. Trust me, they won't. So if you could just tell me, the things I need to know, how to portion my food, I've already lost like three pounds, but I'm trying to speed it along, just a little. Please help me?, and be nice please, and thank you :)
Way to go on cutting the pop!!! That will help you so much. Also way to go on the treadmill AND trying not to eat late at night. Know that losing weight (and keeping it off) only comes from changing diet and exercise for the rest of you're life. Keep doing what you're doing - losing weight healthily takes times, so be patient. As for your random mealtimes - maybe it's not ideal, buy you're doing what you can for now - so don't dwell on what you're doing "wrong" (cause frankly everyone is different on how they do things) Focus on those steps you are already doing and just try make them a daily/weekly habit for you.

As for portions - I suppose if you feel like your portion is way to big, then it is. Don't eat until you're stuffed, just until you're full. Don't be afraid to put leftovers in the fridge!

I hope you find your answer and that everyone is nice to you :) - (if not ignore them - you're doing great!)
Well if u want to get into shape and loose weight i would recommend doing laps at your local pool. Im on my high school swim team and i love swimming and im in the best shape of my life
eat small meals every 2 to 3 ours...include some sort of whole food like fruit and a little bit of protein with each small meal. this will keep you metabolism burning and you will burn more calories and feel fuller. never eat until you feel full. just until you feel comfortable. Dont eat over 300 calories for each meal. but otherwise you sound like your doing everything right. weight lose is not a fast process. Be patient and you will see results.
1- Change around your sleeping schedule. I used to be 65lbs overweight, and I used to be a night owl. To help turn it around, you can take melatonin to help you relax and get to sleep.

2- You said that you can't eat healthier, but I'm sure that you can make healthier choices. If you need to get a part time job, do it. Your health is crucial. "You are what you eat". :)

3- Good job on your exercise, looks great. Congrats on working on your GED.

4- As far as fruit, an apple would be great choice. They are low in calories and they have a ton of fiber in them so it can take a few hours to digest.

5- Diet is at least 70% of the battle. I know, I used to be 65lbs overweight and was disgustingly obese in my 20's! You can change this while you are younger, and I know that you will feel a whole lot better when you are providing your body with a healthier diet. You can do it! :) Good luck.

Firstly, u should try your best to adjust ur sleeping pattern. study in daytime from 9:00 am to 22:00pm. u must have enough sleep about 8 hours. then, eat regularly and u can cook for yourself. breakfast: porridge or some milk and juci, wholemeat bread which has lower calorie than ordinari bread. for lunch u should eat some vegetalbe and rice and a little meat. for supper u should eat less. some furite is ok.may you success.
wow i think you just wrote out my life story except the dieting part....i understand the sleeping thing..i dont fall asleep til like 6ish every morning. but anyways i would try to just eat less of whatever you have. eat sometihng that makes you feel full. like mashed potatoes always fill me up..i cant eat as much of those as other foods. i also started going shopping myself and buying little things that arent expensive and making those, like noodles and vegetables and stuff. ive also heard that if you squeeze some lime juice into a glass of water it curbs your appetite some. smaller dishes help too! its proven that you will eat less if you eat with smaller utensils and dishes. and dont eat in front of the tv. people eat almost 3x more than normal if they are watching tv while eating... well good luck with all!! :)
Honey, it's not necessarily what you eat it's how much you eat. Now try tricking yourself and eating on a saucer, that helped me. My family doesn't eat very healthy neither, you don't necessarily have to eat everything they eat neither. Try cooking things on your own, or find some easy recipes, trust me, If I can lose 4 pounds in a week, then I know you can, it's all about how much you eat, and not eating after a certain time, Like I don't eat after 7:30. You might wanting to try really hard at changing your sleeping patter. It's hard I know, because I just had to do it recently, why don't you try going out instead of being in the house all day, that's one of the main things that changed my sleeping pattern. It's funny your story sounds just like mine before I started losing weight, if I can do it, then anyone can do it.
