What kind of pet is easier to take care of a Rabbit or a Cat?
What kind of pet is easier to take care of a Rabbit or a Cat?
I've worked with both at the Humane Society I used to volunteer at and rabbits seemed less domesticated that house cats. I've grown up with cats as well. There are many more varieties of cat food in stores like Walmart than rabbit food and it's a lot cheaper as a whole to take care of a cat than a rabbit. Cats are more friendly and playful than rabbits as well so it depends on how much of a bond you want to have with your animal.
.
Have had cats all my life.
Most would say rabbits because you can just put them in their hutch, feed them and water them and clean the hutch and pet them and stuff.
Or maybe a cat- because they just run around outside or inside and you feed them and water them and you pet them and stuff. But they have to have cat litter if they live inside. They also cost more for their food and vet bills whereas rabbits dont even have to have vaccines and stuff like a cat does.
They can both measure out to be the same. I currently own a dwarf rabbit mix (my profile picture :P) and I've pet sat for a cat. It depends on the type of person you are and the pet you're looking for.
Rabbits can make great companions. Many enjoy being handled and petted, while others would rather play around on the floor with toys. They make great pets, but are rather on the stinky side unless you spot clean the cage on a daily basis. Spot cleaning is just like scooping out a litter box (which both pets, cats and rabbits, need). You scoop out the dirty bedding and switch with clean bedding. A full cleaning of the cage will be needed once a week. Rabbits will need to be let out of the cage for at least half an hour a couple times a week to prevent boredom.
From my pet sitting experiences, cats can make good pets, but when they want to be. Usually, they'll hide unless they're social and really enjoy their owner. All cats, just like rabbits and other pets, can be different among the others. Just like rabbits, they'll need their own litter box which will need to be scooped out daily to prevent odors and for your own pet's comfort.

In the end, it's up to you and the work you want to do. It does seem as if a cat would be easily to care for, since you can keep him/her in your house and they can do whatever they want, whereas a rabbit needs to be let in and out of their cage. But in the end, all your hard work will be worth it. Make sure you read about the type of pet you're thinking of getting before actually getting one. This way, you'll know what you're getting yourself into, even if means reading about one type and then deciding you want the other.
I think it's much easier to take care of a cat for sure. Rabbits are very messy and very smelly. Sure, a cat has a litter box but it's nothing to scoop it out every to every other day. With my cat I use Fresh Step and I never smell his box..ever. Also, rabbits, even though usually tame, kick a lot and can cause some really bad scratch wounds. You have too keep them caged so bonding is more difficult. I would suggest a cat for sure but you should do what you prefer! =)
definitely cat if it is an outside cat because I have a cat and 2 rabbits.
Rabbits are so hard to take care of but if you want to do all the hard work then I would say rabbits, they are awesome even if they are more work than a cat.
For my cat, all I have to do is feed him in the morning and night with food and water. the great plus side is they love and cuddle with you too!
a cat is. especially if it is more of a house cat. but the down side is cleaning the litter box.
a cat. cats take care of them selfs.
.
i have a cat so i know about it
I would say a cat. They're very independent.
