| What kind of fish can i get?? | |||||
|
Ok so im getting a fish and my sister wants to get a betta fish so i said cool cause they are pretty but i want one too but i heard they kill each other. Is it ok to keep both in one huge tank or if you suggest another fish what kind should i get please give me the right answer! Betta's are great fish I have had mine for almost a year now. Yes they do kill each other sad right. You could get a mini tank with a divider. I have one which I house with my sisters female on the other side. If you are worried about the small space don't. Betta's in the wild live in rice fields so sometimes the water is high and sometime it is a fight for survival in a little puddle, that's also why the Betta's don't like each other. Two females would be fine together though but two males have to be separate. All Betta's must be kept in individual tanks because they are territorial fish and like their space, however they do well with other fish such as all kinds of tetras. I have provided a link below which talks about betta behavior.. . http://www.bettafishcenter.com/Betta-Behavior.shtml Hope that helps.. Betta and fish owner 5+ years of experience No. If you want two betta males (the fancy ones with the long fins) then you need two tanks. Really the bettas don't need a ton of room- the best thing for them is a 5gal tank with a gentle flowing filter. If you get ~10gal tank with a filter that will give you more options- neon tetras, zebra danios, guppies, etc are all great small tank community fish. bettas are wonderful and fun, but no, you can not put 2 males together. you might be able to get by with two female bettas, but they aren't as pretty or fun. i have a betta right now that has made friends with a goldfish...lol...so they get along quite well...but watch them to make sure they don't fight! . raisin' bettas for about 10 years now If you want fish which can live in groups and are pretty, try shubunkin goldfish. I used to have some, they're silver and pink and orange and other colours :) what size tank? never 2 bettas together, guppies are colorful and active and then you both can have a fish that can be together You should get a 10 gallon (or more) tank and just use a divider. That way, you'll have 2 live healthy bettas in the same tank.
