Will my dog love me more?
Will my dog love me more?
I have a 9 month old puppy and i feed him, play with him, walk him, groom him, train him. and he is always by my side. Like i am serious i even take him to shower with me. IN maybe 1 or 2 years will i have a bond with him? like a very speacial one? because sometimes he always follows me around and sometimes not so much. i am 13 years old and my mom and dad help out caring for him to but i do 90% of the work. So will he love me more? Because sometimes i mess up and yesterday i hit him on his bum and he seems to like my less :( i am like all stressed out right now and i think he might not love me
I have had dogs all of my life. Whenever you spend time with a dog, and most of their time is with you, then they do form a special close bond with you. Just like if a person spends most of their time with 1 person, they get closer to them than others.
Dogs give unconditional love and are very loyal. Those who care, feed and give the most love to them they will trust and be close to them. The dog knows that this person loves them and feels safe with them. Dogs form bonds quickly, so if you've been caring for and spending the most of your time with your dog, he's already bonded with you. The times he doesn't follow you just means he may be tired and taking a nap, or if there is activity in the house and others, like your parents are there, they just like to be in a spot where they can keep track of everybody. Your dog may have the closest bond with you, but they also have a bond with your parents.
When you hit your dog on his bum, it did hurt him, because he loves you and probably didn't understand why you did it. Whenever you discipline your dog, don't stay mad at them. After a little while you need to go and spend time with your dog, playing, walking and comforting them. You need to show them that you love your dog. He will come around and be close to you again. He's just confused because you may have startled him with hitting his bum. Just let hom know that you love him and try to teach him to not do these things that can get him into trouble. Work with him and when he learns the right behavior, reward him with praise and his favorite cracker or treat.
It sounds as though you really care for your dog. He knows this and loves you just as much. Dogs love unconditionally. They can sense those who really love them, which I'm sure your dog knows that you love him because of all the time and care you give to him.
The next time your dog does something wrong, try not to hit him. Just point at him and with a stern voice let him know that he did wrong.
Just remember to always treat your dogs the way you want to be treated, with respect and love.
Your dog already has a close bond with you which is why he got so upset when you got mad at him. He just wants to please you, but sometimes, as with people, we make mistakes. He still and will always love you as you love him.
It sounds like you have a great dog. It's good that you take the time to love and care for him and your dog knows that you love him very much.
Best of luck with your dog. Hope I helped.
Don't hit your dog, how would you feel if someone hit you. Your dog loves you and if you don't like something your dog is doing wrong then train him not to do it anymore, but not with abuse. Dogs love their owners and your mom and dad are special to him to. They're smart little animals and like to give everyone attention.Just love and treat him good and he will always love you.
You are starting that bond with him right now. I dont hit my dogs and that is what I prefer not to do. I tell them off and ignore them when they are naughty or take away the offending object. As I said that is how I prefer to discipline my dogs. I am sure you will have a few people offer you advise as well.
You are doing a great job with your dog, be patient with him. Good Luck.
Of course! I take care of my puppy 90% of the time too. And when ever I come through the door, he comes running straight to me. When he's let out of his crate, he waits outside my bedroom door until I get out. All your hard work is paying off. And of course he'll still love you! Silly! Don't worry so much!!!!!
He still loves you, he just doesn't trust you. You will have to earn back his trust. Quit hitting your dog. People who abuse animals go on to abuse children. Need to get your temper under control before you decide to become a parent one day.
dogs usually love the ones that treats it best /feeds it/ baths it . and makes it mind so i think it will be fine with you.
I am sure he has enough love for everyone. He can sense when you are upset, and he may shy away from you and find a more peaceful place. But he will always love you.
yeah he will still love you. most of the time the best way to a dogs heart is positive re inforcement and training and most of all FOOD! but dont make him fat:)
NO he hates you !!!

Duhh he loves you
Like - it will be up to the dog. Like like like like like like
Your dog will forgive you, but you can't afford to send him mixed messages early in his life (or any time).

There is a place for discipline with dogs, but it should never involve hitting them. A firm "no!" looking straight at them at the instant they do something wrong or naughty is all it should take. A minute or two later is too late, as they will often not understand what the scolding was for then.

Then praise him a lot when he does things right. He'll learn quickly and love you for it.

Remember too that he's a puppy. Although he'll love your company, sometimes he'll want to go off and explore things, especially interesting smells he notices, so he won't be by your side 24/7. That's completely normal.
