| Can u overfeed a orphaned puppy? how much should i feed him? | |||||
|
i have a puppy that is 3 days old. his sister died this morning and his mother died this afternoon. i went to petco and got a puppy milk supplement and a nutri cal supplement. he weighs 5 ounces. i fed him what it said to but he still acts hungry. should i give him more? will it hurt him to over feed him? it is wierd last year my dogs puppies were on formula and they akways wanted more so i agve them more and the are very smart and very healthy so if he/she is still hungry give it more He may still seem hungry but go by what the bottle says because puppies that young can gorge themselves, cause themselves to get to full, start puking and can also cause a backup which is an expensive Vet bill.Be cautious. . Had lots of puppies growing up and lots of orphaned pups too. Frequent feeding is more important than too much at one time. Just feed what it says to feed. Have you spoken to a vet? Good luck, you are going to need it. The pup will need to be fed at least every 2 hours 24 hours day and night, for at least 4 weeks. If you can only get 1 or 2 ccs in him every 2 hrs.it would be better than forcing too much at once and it will go into his lungs. I dont understand what killed his mother? I dont envy you at all. Good Luck! . lots of dog ex. Take the dog to a free pet clinic and consult a profesional. You can search for clinics online. i would just give him a little bit . But not to much or it might make him sick.
