Why is their blood on a lost feather of a parakeet?
ok so me and olliver a regular green parakeet were playing and suddenly i see a feather under him. i was exaamining the feather.. which i always do.. idk why though. but on the pointy tip their was blood. is that normal or was it picked off when it wasnt supposed to? please help
As long as there is just a little blood on the feather tip, no big deal. The bird had pores that feathers grow out of sort of like our sweat glands. They supply the blood for a growing feather. The moment a feather breaks the bird will (usually) pull it out, the pore then closes off the blood supply.

If there is no blood on the bird, no problem.
Its called a blood feather its alright it just one feather fell out, but make sure he doesn't keep on bleeding.
