| If someone is reported for animal cruelty? | |||||
|
Do they face fines or jail time? I reported a neighbor for neglecting her dog. He lived i n horrible conditions and I felt it was my place to speak for him because he could not speak for himself. I heard they told her to hand over the dog or face prosecution. Does anyone know if she would be held accountable for anything else even f she signed him over? I wanted them to throw the book at her. These are some of the conditions he suffered? Left outside 24/7 even in extreme weather conditions like the 3 blizzards we had on the east coast. She is to lazy to feed him so she tosses food from her window. His collar is very short so he had limited mobility and she never cleaned up his poo, The yard was littered with his feces. His water was always frozen and when animal services got there it took them awhile to get him to stand up. There was maybe 4 feet of snow around his doghouse.I know I did the right thing. What do you think will happen to her? Thanks everyone I hope something trecherous will happen to her. That is HORRIBLE animal cruelty. Thank you for speaking up for the poor dog. I hope he finds a good home were he is loved and appreciated. definately a case of animal cruelty. For me to report a neighbor it would definately have to be a case like this. good job. who cares what happens to her. maybe they will tie her on a short leash and give her frozen water. they could face fines or jailtime. i reported someone who killed a kitten and i know they aren't in jail but they were supposed to go to court apparently by the way- good job! and thank you for doing that! Besides losing her dog, she probably won't get more than a fine and no animal ownership for awhile. It's great that you spoke up and probably saved that dog's life. In many cases if the owner surrenders the dog then they avoid prosecution. That is how the dog I now own wound up with AC. you have to go to court and figure out the consequences i hope she goes to prison and pay a fine, this is horrible... I applaud you for taking responsibility. We all have to take responsibility for those who cannot defend themselves. In many states abuse is a felony neglect not so much. If she surrendered the dog more than likely it will stop their. If she lives in squalor she is probably mentally ill. We have so many cases were some are just sadistic Dastards and other cases were they are mentally ill. If she ever has another animal call immediately, She will at least be on record and if you were to get no satisfaction from the police call the animal organizations. We called one group that actually after investigation broke in and stole the dog from a mentally ill neighbor she hardly realized.
