| do birds have to mate to reproduce? | |||||
|
do birds have sex Yes they do, they are not like fish, or amphibians where the eggs are fertilized outside the body. The eggs are fertilized inside the body the shell then forms and the egg is laid and the embryo develops until the baby hatches. They however do not mate like you would think all they truly do is rub their cloaca together and that's that. (must suck to be a male bird ha-ha). Hope this helps. They have a process in which the Cloaca (or poop hole) touch, and a transfer of sperm has been complete. A female bird, regardless if it mated with a male, will lay eggs no matter what. well if you must know, then click the links . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoWArJy-4/a> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LrwTY_Ky/a> youtube Yes, but they don't have external genitalia. They simply rub their cloacas together.
