I been giving my dog yogurt, is this good?

In small amounts it can help with digestion issues. Too much is not good. Also, many dogs do not handle dairy well, it may cause vomiting and/or diarrhea

Dogs need dog food. It has all the vitamins they require. Yogurt may make doggie sick.

i have given my dog plain yogurt when he was sick on the advice of my vet and my current dog always gets the last spoonful or two and licks the cup i ate yogurt from clean ... no problems that i could see

Dogs are lactose intolerant and any milk product can produce upsets in their digestive system and eventually lead to serious illness such as kidney failure. If you have a miracle dog that can tolerate a milk product, then give him/her all the yogurt it wants. Otherwise, you should probably lay off yogurt and milk products or give some type of lactose free yogurt if your dog likes it that much. Hope that helps.

Yes, it's good. In fact it's recommended to give them a spoonful of plain yogurt a day mixed in with their food.

As long as you aren't overfeeding it and the dog isn't overly dairy sensitive, it's a WONDERFUL addition to food.
The probiotics that are in it are great for dogs and their tummies.
I give my 12lb dog 1tsp-1tbsp per day. I prefer unflavoured low-fat organic yogurt and she adores it. I freeze it into mini ice-cubes and either drop it in her food or give it to her as a treat. In fact, she's due for one today, thanks for reminding me!

Plain, non fat yogurt is fine. I give it to my dogs at least 3 times a week.

My wife likes yogurt and she always lets our German Shepherd lick whats left in the carton as a 'treat' and she loves it. Dairy Products are OK in moderation - but in addition to their regular dog food. Like anything else, too much can make your dog fat, and in some dogs it can lead to digestive problems.

My vet, my old vet, and other people's vets I know have all recommended yogurt. NEVER give your dog artificially-sweetened yogurt (aspartame), as the neurotoxic effect is greater on dogs than it is in humans. Your best bet is 1 teaspoon to 1 Tablespoon per day, depending on your dog's size, of plain yogurt with active cultures.

I think there's no problem with the plain/ non fat. I take peaunt butter/plain non fat yogurt, bananas and honey to make frosty paws ice cream that stores sell for dogs.
